Why an independent jewelry appraiser

What's so important about being independent and what does that mean?

An independent jewelry appraiser is one that is:
   - not an employee of a retail organization,
   - prepares appraisals in their own name,
   - is a professional that works only as a jewelry appraiser in the industry,
   - is respected as a professional by others in the jewelry industry and continues to educate themselves on the ever-changing aspects of the industry.

An independent appraiser is:

Unbiased. A true independent appraiser should not buy or sell. Therefore they have no interest in the sale of an item and can assess values that are honest and accurate with current market values.

Timely. We perform appraisals of the customer’s jewelry while they wait and watch. No jewelry ever leaves the customer’s sight. Written documents are prepared and given to the client upon completion of the appraisal. A completely mobile gem lab provides on-site appraisals if needed.
